Biography:
Classix Nouveaux was formed in 1979 in London by Sal Solo, Mik Sweeney, Gary Steadman and B.P. Hurding. It was one of the most popular New Romantic band in Poland but in their country Classix Nouveuax never got any success. The first album, “Night People” released in 1981 included songs: “Tokyo”, “Guilty” or “Never Again”. In 1983 they made their third and last album – “Secrets”. Most popular songs in Poland were simply on this album: “Never Never Comes” and “Heart From The Start” (noted in Polish Radio 3, but this song never released on single!). They played a lot of concerts in Poland, were guest in Pawel Karpinski's TV-show “To Tylko Rock” (in English: “This Is Only Rock”). In 1984 Classix Nouveaux disbanded and Sal Solo began solo career. He recorded song titled “San Damiano”, which reached 1st places in Polish charts. Videoclip to “San Damiano” was made in Warsaw`s Culture And Learing Palace also by Pawel Karpinski. A lot of success in Poland leaded of recording song “Poland (Your Spirit Won`t Die)”. In solo career singer recorded album “Heart And Soul” but like all Classix Nouveaux albums haven't had success in Great Britain.
Today Sal Solo is recording church music. From time to time he arrives to Poland with concerts.
